YWCA Darien/Norwalk today announced programming and events for its annual Week Without Violence, a week-long initiative held during October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month designed to raise awareness, amplify survivor voices and unite our community in the effort to end domestic violence.
On October 21st-26th, we are joining forces with some of our area’s most respected organizations, including the Darien Library, Darien Community Association, Darien YMCA, Darien Domestic Abuse Council, and Domestic Violence Crisis Center, to bring meaningful programming and community involvement to the forefront. These partnerships are crucial in amplifying our collective voice and expanding the reach of our efforts. Together, we are building a stronger, more informed, and supportive community that stands united against domestic violence.
“This initiative aims to enable us to reclaim our power and find our voices, not only to advocate for ourselves and our neighbors, but for those who don’t have a voice,” said Jennifer Buchholz, CEO of YWCA Darien/Norwalk. “ When a community comes together on such a critical issue, it sends a powerful message that gender-based violence has no place here. It is only through unified efforts that we can break the cycle of abuse, uplift survivors, and create a safer, more compassionate and inclusive world for everyone.”
