Darien resident Janine Vairo and David Wagner, owner of SIPSTIRS in Darien which is located at 1053 Post Road, hosted a Sip For a Cause Spring Wine Tasting Event which supported “Move For Hunger” at the SIPSTIRS store on Tuesday, April 23rd. Janine Vairo who is a Realtor®at AFA Homes | William Raveis in Darien is very involved with this organization, often helping clients donate their food when they move. Guests enjoyed a fun evening learning about different fine wines from various regions and light bites while supporting a great cause in the Darien Community. This creative event was a unique spin on the traditional food drive.
All food donations they collected were donated to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. The guests brought a wide range of non-perishable foods including cereal, flour, canned fruits and vegetables, oatmeal, peanut butter, crackers, jelly, beans, and soups. Nearly 145 pounds of food was collected — that’s enough to provide 118 meals.
