CBS Evening News Anchor Jeff Glor to Serve as Master of Ceremonies at Greenwich Hospital Fundraising Event

CBS Evening News Anchor Jeff Glor to Serve as Master of Ceremonies at Under the Stars, a benefit for Pediatrics and Women’s Health at Greenwich Hospital

Greenwich Hospital announced today that “CBS Evening News” anchor and Greenwich resident, Jeff Glor, will serve as master of ceremonies at the Under the Stars event on Friday, May 17. The fundraiser will be held from 7 to 11:30 pm at Riverside Yacht Club to benefit the comprehensive range of pediatric and women’s health services at the hospital.

This marks the third year that the Emmy-award winning and veteran news journalist will fill the role of emcee for the evening. Glor’s wife, Nicole, serves on the planning committee for the event.

“It is an honor to host the Under the Stars event benefitting Greenwich Hospital, an organization that is diligently supporting women and children’s health,” said Glor, who credits his mother, a former Lamaze coach and OB/GYN nurse, for his early connection to the importance of quality health care.  “Now, I am a proud husband and father of two, making my support of the hospital’s work an organic fit.”

The Glors first heard about Under the Stars and Greenwich Hospital shortly after moving to Greenwich through friend and event co-chair, Jennifer Turano, who encouraged Nicole to join the committee as an opportunity to give back to her new community.

The Glor family has expressed gratitude for having a world class medical facility and the vital services it provides close to home. In 2016, the Glor’s then two-year-old daughter had a frightening fall that required stitches on her face. “The emergency department had a plastic surgeon on staff that Sunday night of a holiday weekend, and we were impressed that we did not have to leave the neighborhood for her procedure,” said Nicole, who also regularly receives routine care at Greenwich Hospital’s Breast Center.

“We are privileged to have had the support of both Jeff and Nicole Glor over the years,” said Norman G. Roth, Greenwich Hospital president and chief executive officer. “The time they consistently devote to Greenwich Hospital, with their busy schedules, is inspiring and greatly appreciated by our entire team.”

Under the Stars will feature a performance by 98 Degrees, seated dinner, live and silent auctions, and entertainment by DJ April Larken. The Warwick Family, the Walker family from Shreve Crump & Low, and Karen Santucci, MD will be honored for their commitment to Greenwich Hospital.
