KEYS (Kids Empowered by Your Support, Inc) is honored to have been recently awarded a $10,000 grant from Near & Far Aid.
KEYS is all about empowering students by exposing them to music education as a life-changing experience. Music builds confidence, teaches teamwork, and requires preparation and focus. Students who receive exposure to music education have opportunities to make a difference both in their personal lives and in their participation in their communities.
Each year, KEYS offers:
- a comprehensive music program of one-to-one, in-school instrument lessons
- free instruments to use as a KEYS student
- after-school practice sessions
- group music instruction and workshops
- non-audition KEYS Saturday ensembles at Bridgeport’s Klein Auditorium
- summer programs
- active collaborations with other non-profit organizations
