Kids In Crisis Autumn Scavenger Hunt
Kids In Crisis will host its second community-wide Scavenger Hunt October 23 through November 1. This much-anticipated virtual event is a fun and engaging way to build awareness for participating businesses and the Kids In Crisis mission.
The Scavenger Hunt is a great, safe way for singles, families, friends, and co-workers of all ages to have fun this Autumn. The cost to play is $10 for an individual or team of up to five people. Players receive a list of “missions,” in categories like “Family Fun,” “Do Good,” and “Community Awareness & Support.” The missions motivate players to get outdoors to safely and actively enjoy the charm and vibrancy of the season. Kids in Crisis has an exciting Scavenger Hunt prize pool to award to participating players.
Registration is now open via smartphone or computer, through a free app called Goosechase, and challenges will go live at 9:00 AM on October 23rd. Players will have a full week, until November 1st, to complete the mission challenges. Individuals and teams of up to five players are welcome to play, and naming yourself or your team begins the fun. Once you’re in the game you’ll be required to “snap evidence” of completed missions to collect points through the app in real time, and your game organizer will award spontaneous prizes along the way. Players will have access to a real-time leaderboard to see how they stack up against other teams, and a motivational activity feed to chart progress and enjoy game-wide postings as the competition evolves.
Kids In Crisis Executive Director Shari Shapiro explains how the unique Scavenger Hunt idea came to life; “While we’ve had to cancel all of our in-person fundraisers in lieu of the Corona Virus pandemicandwe thought a virtual Scavenger Hunt would be the perfect way to stay connected with supporters, raise funds, andhelp spread awareness about the agency and the work we do."
