LIONS Club of Darien donates $5,000 to Corbin Cares Phase Two

“We Serve.” The mantra of the LIONS Club of Darien speaks volumes, particularly as the chapter recently donated an incredible $5,000 to Corbin Cares Phase Two, in partnership with The Darien Foundation, to help provide meals for essential workers.

The LIONS Club of Darien, founded in 1948 by several Darien businessmen, is part of the largest service club in the world. Said LIONS Club of Darien president, Peter Rogers: “When we saw the appeal from Corbin Cares we acted quickly. It seemed like such a creative and logical extension of the effort earlier last year to feed the needy, elderly, and health workers, etc., with meals prepared by Darien restaurants trying to survive the Covid shut-down. Darien LIONS are proud and privileged to be a part of both efforts in support of Corbin Cares. Keep up the good work!” He continued: "‘LIONS' stands for Liberty, Intelligence, our Nation’s Safety’ — never more a propos than the current times in which we live.”
