Darien Arts Center Receives Two State Grants

The Darien Arts Center has recently received two state grants totaling $88,200 in funding. Connecticut Humanities, the statewide, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), has awarded the DAC a $43,500 CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant (CTCFOSG). Additionally, DAC will be receiving a new State of CT, Theatres and Performing Groups general operating support grant in the amount of $44,700 to be used this fiscal year.

The grants will assist organizations as they recover from the pandemic and maintain and grow their ability to serve their community and the public, connect K-12 teachers and students to strong humanities and arts content, and improve their information technology and digital infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to have received these generous awards and we look forward to sharing productions and enrichment with our valued community,” said Board President, Carolyn Cavolo.

The DAC was one of 624 organizations in Connecticut that was awarded CT Cultural Fund support totaling $16M from CT Humanities. The CTCFOSG are part of $30.7M of support allocated to arts, humanities, and cultural nonprofits through CTH over the next two years by the CT General Assembly and approved by Governor Ned Lamont. The CTCFOSG will assist organizations as they recover from the pandemic and maintain and grow their ability to serve their community and the public.

Founded in 1975, the Darien Arts Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing visual and performing arts programs and events for the community. The DAC offers educational programs in Dance, Visual Arts, Music & Theatre as well as special events for the community. The Darien Arts Center is located at 2 Renshaw Road, behind the Town Hall.
