Darien High School and the Town of Darien Human Services Department will jointly offer a parent presentation TONIGHT Monday, June 13 at 7:00 pm, via Zoom, entitled, “After a Suicide: What Every Parent Should Know.”
In the aftermath of the tragic and heartbreaking suicides in the DHS community, parents may find themselves wondering:
- How can I best support my child(ren)?
- What’s the best way to talk to my kids about this frightening subject?
- Is suicide contagion real?
- What should I look for in my own kids? When should I worry?
- Are antidepressants dangerous?
Join Joanne L. Harpel, MPhil, CT, JD, President of Coping After Suicide, for an adults-only presentation followed by an open forum to address the emotions, concerns, and fears that inevitably arise in the aftermath of suicide. Have your questions answered and get reliable information, guidance, and reassurance.
