Committee Putting Finishing Touches On Pacific House Gala

Pacific House thanks the 2018 Gala Committee for all its hard work and dedication to planning the 17^th Annual Pacific House Gala.

The committee is led by Andrew M. Reid and includes Cliff Berger, Jim Bosek, James Calcagnini, Aaron Eiges, Steven Fox, Brad Mahaney, Marc Malloy, Jane Pelletier, Peter Rugen, and Chris Tate. Honoree Committee members, all residing in Darien, include Diane and Mike Barston, Caroline and Tom Burke, Barbara Close and Paul Swirbul, Susan and Ted Collins, Sue and Tom Denunzio, Elizabeth and Stephen Foresta, Jean and Dennis Gillespie, Janice and Bill Griffiths, Margie Walker Hauer, Marie and Justin MacCarone, Mark and Deirdre McGovern, Anne and Bruce McGuire, Claudia and Bob Newton, Judy and Jerry Nielsen, Laurie and Scott Tuck.

Pacific House is hosting its gala on Friday, October 12^th at 6pm at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich Hotel. DeAnne and James Calcagnini, of Darien, will be the event honorees.

The spectacular evening will include cocktails, dinner, dancing, exciting auctions and inspiring speakers. The event seeks to help end homelessness in Fairfield County, and funds raised will support Pacific House, which serves Greenwich, Stamford, Darien and New Canaan. In 2017, Pacific House aided 335 clients, served almost 50,000 meals and provided roughly 20,000 shelter stays.  The organization provides critical programs to the homeless population in our area, including case management, job training, a recovery program and health care. It also runs a diversion program to keep people from becoming homeless, and builds and manages deeply affordable housing as a path to end homelessness for good.

Pacific House is the only regional men’s emergency shelter, serving Greenwich, Stamford, New Canaan, Darien and the rest of Fairfield County.  Since 1982 the organization has served 1 million meals, provided over 850,000 bed-nights, secured housing for 1,500 people, and secured employment for 3,700 clients.
