Theatre Classes for Grades 3 through adult begin April 4 at Darien Arts Center

Join us for this fun & silly hour to play games of improv, study acting & develop performance skills. For the culminating event, students perform their class work for family & friends in the DAC Weatherstone Studio!

Shakespeare or What You Will
With Claire Kelly and Nick Urda
Grades 9 - 12
Thursdays, 5-6:30pm
April 4 - May 18

Culminating Performance Saturday, May 18 in DAC Weatherstone Studio

Young actors will work alongside Shakespeare on the Sound Artistic Director, Claire Kelly and Education Director Nick Urda to uncover the secrets of performing, understanding and loving Shakespeare. Over the course of the program, participants will learn how to analyze text, develop a  character, strengthen performance skills, and conquer cold feet. There will be a  culminating event where students will  have the chance to perform their scenes  and soliloquies for family and friends
at the Darien Arts Center.

Scene Study for Adults
With Carole Claps
Ages 18 & up
Thursdays, 7-9pm
April 4 - May 17

Performance Friday, May 17 in the DAC Weatherstone Studio.

Carole Claps, director of Darien's Got Talent, leads this traditional acting and scene study class. If you have a love of performing or always wondered what it was like to act on the stage, this class is for you. Share your talents and scene work with friends and family in a culminating performance.
