The Monuments & Ceremonies Commission of the Town of Darien invites the public, first responders, Town Selectmen, local officials and Middlesex Middle School students, their teachers and administrators to attend the town’s annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony.
Beginning at 8:30 AM sharp on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at the 9/11 Memorial located behind Middlesex Middle School, 204 Hollow Tree Ridge Road, Darien, the Monuments and Ceremonies Commission will follow tradition and observe 9/11 with a brief ceremony.
Josh Doying, a Darien High School graduate brought the 9/11 monument to fruition. This year, M&C Commission Chairman, David E. Polett will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
A wreath and red roses will be placed and a moment of silence will be observed at 8:46 AM, the time the first plane struck the Tower on September 11, 2001.
