Meet the Author: Pamela Paul, NYT Book Reviews Editor at Darien Library on Oct. 21

Pamela Paul, Editor of the New York Times Book Review and co-author of the new book, How To Raise A Reader, will visit Darien Library on Monday, October 21 at 7 p.m. She will provide insider know-how to parents searching for the tools to instill a lifelong love of reading in their children.

Study after study shows that babies and toddlers thrive intellectually and emotionally when they’re read to and that books help children of every age expand their language skills and comprehension of the world, boost their critical thinking and imagination, build empathy, and strengthen bonds with caregivers. At the same time, reading can be a source of stress for parents.

Darien Library is proud to co-sponsor this event with the YWCA. The Library and YWCA Darien/Norwalk Parent Awareness will also offer a book group for parents about parenting. The books selected will target different age groups from early childhood to the teen years. For more information, please visit https://www.ywcadn.org/parentingbookgroup

There will be an author signing after the event and refreshments will be served.
