Holiday Shopping and Lunch with Hachette Book Group in Darien on Dec. 3

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, Karen Kosztolnyik and Mackenzie Bronk of Hachette Book Group will join Barrett Bookstore at the Darien Community Association for a conversation about the publishing industry. The event begins at 12:15 p.m.

Attendees will learn about what it takes for a manuscript to make an impression and the path it follows, from the depths of the slush pile, through the editing process, to the printing press and into your TBR pile. In addition, we will offer a sneak peek at the best of current and upcoming titles. Q&A will be followed by an opportunity to do a bit of shopping. Barrett Bookstore will be on hand to sell and wrap recommended titles. Lunch by Michael Joseph's Catering is included in the ticket purchase.

Karen Kosztolnyik, Vice President and Editor in Chief at Hachette Book Group leads the Publisher's hardcover line. She leads Grand Central Publishing acquiring editors in fiction and nonfiction and oversee editorial across the whole list. She also acquires and edits books in her areas of interest, specifically commercial and literary fiction.
 
Mackenize Bronk, Sales Representative at Hachette Book Group, graduated with a degree in Art History and International Studies from Northwestern University. She has several years of experience in the publishing industry on the sales side of the business.
