Great Mac & Chili Challenge Offers Free Sample Holder

Norwalk, CT – Make attending the 6^th Annual Great Mac And Chili Challenge part of your New Year’s resolutions. Get a FREE muffin tray which is a terrific way to hold samples of either classic beef chili, creative chili and/or mac ‘n cheese.  Then you can bring the tray home to use later on.

This all takes place indoors at the new SoNo Collection in Norwalk, CT on Sunday, January 26 from 11 am – 3 pm.  Those who bring this special ticket will be given a new muffin tray, an $8 retail value, upon entering!  Draft beer is now available for sale for those desiring a great beer to go along with their chili.  

The Great Mac & Chili Challenge remains a true people’s choice competition where attendees rate all they sample on a scale from 7 to 10.5 using their cell phone instead of wasting paper.  The restaurants with the highest average rating in each of the three competition categories are declared champions.  The categories include classic beef chili, creative chili and mac ‘n cheese.  

Some of the outstanding restaurants competing this year include both 8 North Broadway of Nyack NY, 273 Kitchen of Harrison NY,  as well as Blue Cactus Grill of Norwalk & Fairfield, two-time defending champion Burger Bar & Bistro of Norwalk (classic mac), defending champion Cask Republic of Greenwich & New Haven (creative mac),  former champion Bobby Q’s of Norwalk, Dunville’s of Westport, Gates of New Canaan, two-time, former champion Geronimo of Fairfield & New Haven (creative chili), Harbor Harvest of East Norwalk, the most decorated and three-time and defending champion Hub & Spoke of Black Rock (classic beef chili),  Jacob’s Pickles of Norwalk and NYC,  the 2016 champion Little Pub of Wilton, Fairfield, Stratford, Greenwich and Old Saybrook (creative chili), Local Kitchen & Beer Bar of Norwalk, defending champion Old Post Tavern of Fairfield (creative chili), Planet Pizza of Norwalk, multiple champion Simply Delicious of Norwalk (both creative chili and mac ‘n cheese champs) and the Original Vazzy’s in Bridgeport. 

The competition will benefit Food Rescue US in the ongoing fight against food insecurity.
