Darien Library Event Breaking Mental Health Stigma Through Fiction Rescheduled for February 3

Darien Library will host a conversation with Cameron Kelly Rosenblum about her debut novel, The Stepping Off Place, a touching YA novel that explores friendship, grief, and mental health. A panel of local teen readers from The Depot will interview Ms. Rosenblum and Dr. Elizabeth Ortiz-Schwartz from Silver Hill Hospital to discuss the book. The group will share strategies on how to help smash the stigma around conversations on mental health.

About the Author

Cameron Kelly Rosenblum grew up in Darien, Connecticut. She studied English literature at Kenyon College and earned a master’s in education at Lesley University. Her time as a teacher and children’s librarian inspired her to write for young people. The Stepping Off Place is her debut novel. Cameron lives near Portland, Maine with her husband, son, daughter, two dogs, and a cat.
