Darien Neighbors, Global Players Speaker Series Begins on April 28 with Jad Finck from Allbirds

On Wednesday, April 28, at 7:00 pm, Jad Finck, VP of Innovation and Sustainability, Allbirds, will begin the Darien Community Association’s highly-acclaimed speaker series, Darien Neighbors, Global Players. Jad will be in conversation with Nate Checketts, co-founder, and CEO of Rhone. They will discuss Innovating Better Things in a Better Way.

Allbirds is well-known for its ultra-comfy Merino Wool Runners. As one of their first employees, Jad Finck leads the development of the company’s major footwear and apparel innovations including their eucalyptus fiber Tree fabric and SweetFoam™, a Time Best Invention of the Year. A graduate of Darien High School, Stanford University, and USC’s Marshall School of Business, Jad is excited to “return home.”
This DCA highly-acclaimed speaker series returns for the 4th year. This year’s series includes three online events, in partnership with DAF Media. This year the DCA is excited to have John M. Glover Insurance Agency as the platinum sponsor of the speaker series and PG Properties and Darien Police Association as the bronze sponsors.

The series will continue on Thursday, May 13, at 7:00 pm. Chase Carey, Chairman, Formula 1, and Mark Waller, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Racing, will be in conversation with Jay Alter, ESPN broadcaster. They will discuss Inside the Business of Formula 1.

The last event of the series will be on Tuesday, May 25, at 7:00 pm. Michael J. Mauboussin, head of Consilient Research, Counterpoint Global, Morgan Stanley will discuss Methods to Improve Decisions.

Series tickets for all three speakers: $80 DCA members / $120 public and individual speaker tickets: $30 DCA members / $45 public. The DCA is a privately-funded nonprofit that does not receive any financial support from the Town of Darien. Since 1923, the DCA has been making our community a nicer place to live, by providing people of all ages a place to gather, give and learn.

DAF Media, a joint venture between The Darien Athletic Foundation and The Darien Foundation, is helmed by veteran sports anchor, Damian Andrew. DAF Media brings together student volunteers to live stream local sports, arts, and community events.
