Short Stories for Summer Days at Darien Library

Darien Library is pleased to announce that the popular discussion series, Short Stories for Summer Days, is returning this summer.

Short story enthusiasts will read a line-up of stories especially selected to offer insight into the human condition and provoke thoughtful conversation. The first week will cover two stories by iconic American novelist Ernest Hemingway: “The Sea Change” and “Hills Like White Elephants.”

The first virtual session will take place on Tuesday, June 15 at 3 p.m. Register on Darien Library’s website at darienlibrary.org/event/5027.

The remaining sessions will take place online on Tuesday, June 29; Tuesday, July 13; Tuesday, July 27; Tuesday, August 10; and Tuesday, August 24 at 3 p.m.

About the Presenter

Carroll Stenson, our moderator, has been leading Short Story discussion groups for the last thirteen years at Darien Library. Now, having moved from Darien to Florida, Carroll is continuing the sessions via Zoom. Carroll is a Yale University graduate and holds a Master’s degree in English literature. The short story genre is her specialty.
