Darien Library Provides a Look Back at Early Television Advertising on Sept. 9

Darien Library is pleased to present a program for television fans and history aficionados alike.

In “And Now, A Word from Our Sponsor,” Dr. Brian Rose will examine the early days of television and how advertisements played a key role in influencing viewers.

This program will explore the birth of television in the late 1940s, 1950s prime time commercials, and the shift to the smaller “participating” spots of the 1960s.

This virtual event will take place on Thursday, September 9 at 7 p.m.

Register on Darien Library’s website at www.darienlibrary.org/event/5191.
