Spend a Night Under the Stars at Darien Library on Friday, October 15

Spend the night looking at planets, stars at Darien Library. Telescope maker Zane Landers will share his knowledge of the deep sky and his handmade telescopes in the Darien Library courtyard. Explore the magic of the night sky and see Venus, the moon, star clusters, nebulae, the Andromeda Galaxy, and more.

This event will take place on Friday, October 15 at 7 p.m. Register on Darien Library’s website at www.darienlibrary.org/event/5337. Due to the space limitations, masks are required at this outdoor program.

About Zane Landers

Zane Landers is an 18-year-old college senior and telescope maker from Stamford, Connecticut. Zane has built over a dozen telescopes ranging from 6″ to 24″ in aperture and is now working on a meter-class Dobsonian as his next project. Zane is an avid deep-sky observer and sidewalk astronomer, setting up a telescope somewhere almost every clear night and having observed elusive objects such as Integrated Flux Nebula. Zane is currently studying Communications at the University of Connecticut and hopes to work as a science writer and communicator
