Author Dylan Thuras: Gastro Obscura

Creative director of Atlas Obscura, author, and host of The Atlas Obscura Podcast Dylan Thuras will speak about his latest release, Gastro Obscura: A Food Adventurer’s Guide, co-authored with Cecily Wong. Thuras will focus on some of the culinary wonders of New England, including Amish charcuterie, a colonial sports drink called switchel, and the famous Connecticut shad bake.

Covering all seven continents, Gastro Obscura serves up a loaded plate of incredible ingredients, food adventures, and edible wonders. From beer made from fog in Chile to Egypt’s 2000-year-old egg ovens, Gastro Obscura is a feast of wonder that will transform readers’ sense of what people around the world eat and drink.
