DCA’s highly-acclaimed speaker series, Darien Neighbors, Global Players Returns

This highly acclaimed speaker series returns for a 5th year. Join us at the DCA to hear from industry innovators we’ve assembled who call Darien their home.

On Wednesday, April 20, Tom Arrix, founder, Get Joy; former VP, Facebook, will be in conversation with Charlie Hannigan, managing director, Oak Hill Advisors. Tom will share his journey from Facebook executive to founder of Get Joy (Thumbs up to Paws Up).

On Thursday, May 12, Amy Brooks, president, team marketing and business operations and chief innovation officer, National Basketball Association, and Renie Anderson, chief revenue officer and EVP, NFL Partnerships, will be in conversation with Jay Alter, ESPN broadcaster. They will discuss Women in Professional Sports Leadership and their individual career paths, the importance of women executives in professional sports, and current challenges facing their industry and respective sports organizations.

On Thursday, June 2, Bob Sauerberg, lead director at Reddit; former president/CEO of Conde Nast, will be in conversation with Jeff Hamill, EVP, Hearst Magazines. Bob will cover the media business and its digital transition, as well as the development of Reddit, the biggest global platform for online communities (From Magazines To Memes).

  • All three events include a reception at 7:00pm and then presentation at 7:45pm.
  • In-person/virtual series tickets for all three events: $80 DCA members / $120 public (Purchase series tickets by April 19.)
  • In-person/virtual individual speaker tickets: $30 DCA members / $45 public

DAF Media, a joint venture between The Darien Athletic Foundation and The Darien Foundation, is helmed by veteran sports anchor, Damian Andrew. DAF Media brings together student volunteers to livestream local sports, arts and community events.
