‘Muse and Music Cabaret’ at The Ridgefield Library

Friday, July 22, 7:00 - 9:00 pm

Free and open to the community! A festive evening of songs, stories, wine and cheese, this cabaret will spotlight new works from area writers, Westport Writers’ Workshop writers, and original music from Charlie Widmer and Tom Polizzi, both of the renowned bluegrass band, On the Trail. Also on tap are singer-songwriter and author Chris Belden, and author and singer Adele Annesi as emcee. Please register in advance.

Thrown Stone’s “Hysterical!” at Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance

Friday, July 22 - Saturday, July 23, 8:00 pm 

It’s a New England Premiere by Elenna Stauffer. This story is about a cheerleading squad that succumbs to a mysterious illness. As the traditional pecking order is upended, the girls’ relationships are tested. Come and see the show that Time Out hails as, “Something worth cheering about!” Running Thursdays through Saturdays through August 7th.

Get ready to tap your toes with this YouthCONNection production, featuring high school and college-aged actors in a fully-staged production. Running through July 31st.

“Sisterhood of the Traveling Prints” at Metro Art Studios, Bridgeport

Saturday, July 23, 12:00 - 4:00 pm

This exhibit features paintings and prints by artists Margot Rocklen, Mary Teichman, Carmela Venti, Jo Yarrington and Yue-mei Zhang. The “Sisterhood” moniker was born in 2019, when the artists embarked on a journey to China, part of an invitational cultural and artistic exchange. Diverse in content and technique, their work is as varied as their personalities. 

Connecticut Ballet at Mill River Park, Stamford

Saturday, July 23, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm 

Pack a picnic and a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the magic of classical and contemporary ballet at its finest. This shared program with Thomas/Ortiz Dance and CT Ballet is presented by Stamford at Stamford’s Mill River Park, Downtown and Mill River Park. The special program will include the Spanish-flavored classical ballet 'Paquita,' and big band music with 'Threads From a String of Swing.' Admission is free, but reservation is required. 

Broadway Through The Ages with Michelle Pauker at MoCA Westport

What’s better than music and art together in one evening? Arrive early to experience the “Women Pulling at the Threads of Social Discourse” exhibition with complimentary access. Then celebrate Broadway with Michelle Pauker, an actress, singer and artist raised in Westport who is passionate about visual arts as well as performing arts. Purchase food and drinks on-site! 

Argonaut & Wasp at Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts, Westport

If you love the vulnerability of a rock show and the energy of a house club, then you will love this concert. After releasing numerous singles and EP's independently, this band signed with +1 Records and released their debut album, STARLIGHT 99 in 2021. BYO-lawn chair. Picnics welcome. Melissa McGuire: Give Me The Simple Life at Ridgefield Theater Barn

As part of the Lounge series, RTB presents a cabaret show directed by Duane Lanham, with musical direction by Rodney Loren. McGuire will regale audiences with Broadway and jazz standards from the ‘50s, ‘60s, & ‘70s in a unique cabaret, story-telling evening. With special guests & the RTB Trio. Seating is cabaret-style, & patrons are encouraged to bring food & drink to enjoy before the show.

Music at the Barn Outdoor Concert Series Old School Revue at Weston Historical Society

Sunday, July 24, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Celebrate the golden age of American Rhythm and Blues with spirited renditions of classic tunes from the heyday of R&B, Soul, Rock, Jazz 'n Swing. The Walrus + Carpenter Food Truck will be on site selling their famous BBQ. Tickets can be purchased at the door. 

Gordon Lightfoot with special guest, Jay Psaros at Wall Street Theater, Norwalk

Sunday, July 24, 8:00 pm

Don’t miss this living legend whose song catalog includes “Early Morning Rain,” “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Sundown,” and “The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald.” Lightfoot has received sixteen Juno Awards, four ASCAP Awards, and has been nominated for five Grammy Awards.
