The Community Fund of Darien hosts Designed to Dine fundraising luncheon on November 2

Thirty exquisite tablescapes… Two style icons… One fabulous lunch! The Community Fund of Darien hosts “Designed to Dine” Fundraising Luncheon on November 2nd.

The Community Fund of Darien invites the public to its fall fundraising luncheon “Designed to Dine” on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at Wee Burn Country Club.

The luncheon, co-sponsored by Moffly Media, will feature unique tablescapes created by 30 of the area’s top local interior designers and businesses showcasing their creativity with originally designed table settings. Style power couple Pilar Guzman and Chris Mitchell, leaders in the design, publishing, and media industries and coauthors of the forthcoming book Patina Modern: A Guide to Designing Warm, Timeless Interiors, will share their thoughts on design.

Guests will receive a signed copy of the book. Limited tickets for this first-ever event are available beginning September 6th for $200 per person at www.communityfunddarien.org, and all proceeds from the event will benefit The Community Fund of Darien to support programs that focus on basic needs, youth success, workforce development, and community health. A select group of the area’s finest 30 designers will each present an imaginative tablescape that is reflective of their own unique taste. Guests will mingle, while viewing the beautifully decorated tables and silent auction items, before being seated for lunch.

To add to the fun and excitement, guests will vote on their selection for favorite table designs across three categories: “Best Overall Table - Best in Show,” “Most Unique,” and Most “Grammable.” The beauty of the tables will be matched by the impressive reputation of speakers Pilar Guzman and Chris Mitchell.

Pilar is the former editor-in-chief of Conde Nast Traveler and Martha Stewart Living and founding editor of the beloved parenting magazine Cookie. Her cookbook, Time for Dinner, was named in 2020 by The New York Times as one of the top cookbooks that food reporters and editors love. Chris is a former media executive and publisher of Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, GQ, Wired, and others. He is now designing and developing house projects full-time. Their homes have been featured in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, and Martha Stewart Living, and in the books Brooklyn Modern and Restoring a House in the City. Their book, Patina Modern: A Guide to Designing Warm, Timeless Interiors, will be released this fall.

Please join The Community Fund of Darien at this inspiring event on November 2nd and help raise funds to strengthen local youth, adults, and families!
