Fall Family Movie Night: "Hocus Pocus"
Friday, October 7th at 7 p.m.
Celebrate the start of the scary season at our outdoor movie night! We will be watching "Hocus Pocus" (1993) with the whole family. Our feature presentation will start after sunset, approximately around 7 p.m. The movie length is 96 minutes. Tasty movie concessions will be provided. 
Ages 5 and up.

Little Artists: Sheep!
Wednesday, October 12th at 4 p.m.
Become an artist with a hands-on project with Miss Maria! Join us at the Library while you are guided in creating a piece of art. This week, create your own sheep craft!
Ages 3 to 7.

Let's Pretend! Theater for Preschoolers
Saturday, October 15th at 9:30 a.m.
Young children will explore singing, acting, and movement to experience the magic and make-believe of the theater through active participation. 
Ages 4 to 5.

Children's Theater Workshop
Saturday, October 15th at 10:30 a.m.
Come and perform The Little Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams. The theater workshop will end with an art activity inspired by the story. All you need to participate in this theatre workshop is an active imagination!
Ages 6 to 10.

Food Explorers: Mini Pumpkin Cheesecakes
Tuesday, October 18th at 4 p.m. 
Level up your cooking skills with a registered dietitian while building up knowledge about food and nutrition that will impress your friends and family. Participants will make yummy Mini Pumpkin Cheesecakes in this hands-on class. 
Ages 7 to 12.

Twisted Toys
Wednesday, October 19th at 4 p.m.
Use recycled toys to make the creepiest of creations in this hands-on class.
Ages 7 to 11.

Tiny Food Explorers
Thursday, October 20th at 11 a.m.
Explore new flavors and textures with a registered dietitian while playing games all about food. Participants will make tasty Cannoli Cones in this engaging class. All snack ingredients will be nut-free but they may contain dairy.
Ages 3 to 6. 

Snacks Around the World: South Korea
Thursday, October 20th at 4 p.m. 
Taste your way around the world! This program series will feature international snacks and trivia with a different country/region highlighted every month. In October, travel with us to South Korea!
Ages 9 to 12. 

Go Away, Big Green Monster!
Friday, October 21st at 4 p.m.
Read the classic story, Go Away, Big Green Monster! by Ed Emberley, then create your own monster!
Ages 4 to 7.

Team STEAM
Monday, October 24th at 4:30 p.m.
Team STEAM is an engineering club founded by students at Wilton High School. This program is perfect for curious-minded children who want to engage in STEAM activities in a group setting.
 Ages 6 to 11.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
Tuesday, October 25th at 6 p.m.
Join the librarians for a evening of bone-chilling stories at the Museum of Darien! We will share the stories on the front lawn of the Bates-Scofield House Museum so please dress warmly. This evening's stories will increase in creepiness as it gets darker. 
Ages 6 and up.

Little Artists: Pumpkin Head
Wednesday, October 26th at 4 p.m. 
Join Miss Maria in the Children's Library to create your own giant pumpkin head!
Ages 3 to 7.

Draw Monsters with Rick Stromoski!
Thursday, October 27th at 5 p.m. 
Award-winning cartoonist Rick Stromoski will show you how to draw your own creatures, goblins, ghosts...and more mysterious monsters. This program will happen over Zoom. 
Ages 6 to 12.

Baby Laptime
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. 
Join us for fingerplays, songs, and bounce rhymes in this lapsit Storytime for pre-walkers!  
Birth to 18 months with a parent or caregiver.

Toddler Storytime
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. 
Join in the fun at Toddler Storytime! This session will feature fun songs, rhymes, activities, and stories. 
 Ages 18 months to 5 with a parent or caregiver.

Goldbas Musical Story Hour
Friday, October 14th at 10:30 a.m.
Join Kate and Jake Goldbas as they bring children's literature to life through song, imaginative play and movement in their interactive storytime meets sing-a-long! 
Ages 1 to 5 with a parent or caregiver.

Bilingual Birdies Concert
Friday, October 21st at 11 a.m.
Join two musicians from Bilingual Birdies for an unforgettable concert performance in English and Spanish! Learn new words while you and your child sing and dance along to original and traditional songs.
Ages 1 to 5 with a parent or caregiver.

Special Halloween Storytime
Thursday, October 27th at 10:30 a.m. 
Celebrate the Halloween season with a special Storytime! Our Children's Librarians will be reading some of their favorite scary stories, songs, and providing some special treats. 
Birth to 5 with a parent or caregiver.

Halloween Musical Story Hour
Friday, October 28th at 10:30 a.m.
Join Kate and Jake Goldbas as they bring children's literature to life through song, imaginative play and movement in their interactive story hour meets sing-a-long: Halloween edition!
