Museum of Darien Hosts Holiday Festivities

The Museum of Darien is hosting several festive holiday activities in December. There is a Boxwood Tree Trimming Workshop for adults, a visiting Silhouette Artist, Pictures with Santa, a Holiday Dollhouse Display and a Holiday CraftLab for ages 6-12.

The Boxwood Tree Trimming Workshop for adults is on Wednesday, December 7th at 7pm. Participants will decorate their own tabletop centerpiece using contemporary and vintage trimmings. Cost for the workshop is $65.

The Family Holiday Events take place on Saturday, December 10th and include Santa and Silhouettes featuring the return of The Silhouette Lady from 11am-5pm. Call Sarah at (203) 984-1798 for an in-person appointment or order online at thesilhouettelady.com. Cost is $30 per sitting and framing is additional. Pictures with Santa at the Museum’s Colonial Hearth also take place on December 10th from 11:45am-12:45pm. Donations are suggested and no appointment is necessary. The Dollhouse Display is open from 11am-5pm and includes beautiful dollhouses that have been donated to the Museum, including the Museum’s own custom-designed saltbox dollhouse. Ordering saltbox dollhouses will begin on Dec 10th for pick up before Christmas.

A Kids Holiday CraftLab takes place on December 14 for ages 6-12 and includes ornament-making and holiday refreshments. Fee is $35.

The Museum of Darien is located at 45 Old King’s Highway in Darien, CT. Museum visiting hours are on Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 11am to 4pm and admission is $5.
