“Moon Dance” Bruce S. Kershner Gallery, Fairfield

Thursday, February 23, 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Head to Fairfield Public Library for the opening reception of an exhibit featuring artwork by Ronnie Gold, Steven Labkoff and Marjorie Sopkin. Artist Talk at 6pm. Ronnie Gold was a fabric designer, now a full time abstract expressionist painter; Steven Labkoff is a physician and an award-winning Master Photographer; Majorie Sopkin spent 30 years as a graphic designer, and now paints landscapes. On view through April 15th during library hours. 

ROCK OF AGES at ACT of CT, Ridgefield

Thursday February 23, 7:00 pm 

Looking for a non-stop party that will have you rock and rollin’ all night long? Venture back to a simpler time when big bands with big egos played big guitar solos and sported even bigger hair. It’s opening night for a five-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway hit featuring 80’s rock hits like “We Built This City,”“We’re Not Gonna Take It,” and “Don’t Stop Believin.” Catch it Thursdays - Saturdays through March 19th. 

“Friday Night Young Artists’ Café” at Pequot Library, Southport

Friday, February 24, 5:00 pm

Enjoy a fun-filled musical night featuring singers, percussionists, pianists, string and woodwind players. Students ages 6-16 are invited to share their music with others in one of the most stunning performance spaces in New England, featuring near-perfect acoustics. 

 “We Will Rock You!” at Milford Arts Council (THE MAC)

Friday Feb 24, 7:30 pm; Saturday Feb 25, 5:30 pm, and Sunday Feb 16, 2:00 pm

It’s a musical for our time - a fist-pumping, foot-stomping anthem to individuality. Join Pantochino Teen Theatre for a musical adventure featuring more than twenty hit songs including “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” and “We Are the Champions.” This musical follows two revolutionaries as they try to save rock ‘n’ roll in a post-apocalyptic world. Performed by 28 young actors in Pantochino's acclaimed Teen Theatre program.

Guaranteed to rock the house! If you’re feeling a little bit rock n roll this weekend, this band brings you American Rock influenced by the likes of Fats Domino, Little Feat, and Chuck Berry. 

“Can It Be My Home?” at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield 

Saturday, February 24, 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Enjoy a special three-hour fabric workshop led by Artist Hangama Amiri. Participants will learn directly from Amiri about her work and practice, while reflecting and sharing their own ideas of home. Amiri will lead you through a process of developing ideas into drawings and then further into a textile piece to take home.

The Silvermine Instructors Exhibition at Silvermine Gallery, New Canaan

Come to a very special exhibit by The Silvermine School of Art Instructors. These distinguished artist educators offer courses for students of all ages and levels of experience in a wide range of disciplines, while providing an environment and atmosphere in which art and artists can develop and flourish. Now it’s time for their work to shine! Their art will be showcased through March 23rd during gallery hours, Tues-Sat, 10am-4pm.

Carmina Burana by Carl Orff! at Performing Arts Center, Greenwich

Saturday, February 25, 4:00 - 6:00 pm

Delight in the youthful energy of the Fairfield County Children’s Chorus and three soloists: soprano Brittany Hebel, countertenor Tanner Logan, and baritone Marcus DeLoach. Greenwich High School and the Greenwich Choral Society invites you to Carmina Burana, based on texts written by clergy and students in the 11th -13th centuries. Orff’s Secular Songs for Soloists and Choruses accompanied by Instruments and Magic Images captures the blissfulness of youth, love and drinking through simple, repeated melodies, and an innate sense of theatricality.

Camera Works 2023 Opening Reception at Ridgefield Guild of Artists

Support CT artists! This exhibit features dozens of CT artists and photographers including CAFC members Miggs Burroughs, Barbara Loss, Tim Nighswander, Nancy Breakstone, and Barbara Ringer. Juried by Paula Tognarelli, a recently retired cultural administrator and curator, working as the Executive Director of the Griffin Museum of Photography.

Art for Ukraine Charity Exhibition and Performance at Oksana Tanasiv Gallery, Norwalk

Saturday, February 25, 6:00 pm

If you are looking to honor the one year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Oksana Tanasiv Gallery presents a charity exhibition and concert in support of Ukraine. The main part of the program will be a performance by Honored Artist of Ukraine Iryna Lonchyna, and by author and performer Lubomyr Chermak. An exhibition of artworks by Ukrainian and American artists will also be presented. All proceeds from the charity sale of paintings and tickets will be donated to help Ukraine.

Music for Chameleons at The Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Westport

Saturday, February 25, 7:30 - 9:00 pm

A treat for all music-lovers! Come enjoy NYC’s Choral Chameleon Ensemble in this thought-provoking narrative on the ever-changing landscape of the world and the power of human beings to have meaningful discourse and invoke transformation.  Based on a short story by Truman Capote, the arc of this program explores the fundamental differences between groups of people and the grace and joy invoked by meaningful conversations between opposing viewpoints. The ensemble is 12 professional singers with a diversity of musical backgrounds in NYC.

Black History Month Celebration at Quick Center for the Arts, Fairfield
