Bacon Brothers to Perform at Fairfield County’s Inner-City Foundation Gala in November

Bacon Brothers to Perform at Local Charity Gala

The Bacon Brothers, a popular band started by the award-winning actor Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael, an Emmy-winning composer, will perform a rare intimate concert in Greenwich on Saturday, November 9 at a fundraiser for Fairfield County’s Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education. For gala tickets, tables or sponsorship information, visit innercityfoundation.org

The event, the 28th annual fall gala to benefit The Inner-City Foundation, will be held at the Greenwich Hyatt Regency in Old Greenwich, and is the charity’s largest fundraiser of the year. The Inner-City Foundation provides support to local Fairfield County programs and organizations that provide not only help but hope to the neediest residents of Fairfield County, including education, food, shelter, help for addiction, domestic violence and much more.

Fiercely devoted to making music, Kevin and Michael Bacon share a singular body of work that’s found them spending more than 20 years of working the road and paying their dues, resulting in nine albums spanning rock, soul, folk and Americana. Kevin Bacon is an award-winning actor with 80 films and dozens of television and stage credits to his name, resulting in numerous Emmy and Screen Actors Guild nominations. An Emmy-winning composer, older brother Michael initially began making music in their native Philadelphia before moving to Nashville where his songwriting career blossomed. While casual observers may be awed by their Hollywood credentials, critics have been quick to note that the brothers — Michael on vocals, guitar and cello and Kevin on vocals, guitar and percussion — along with the band that’s been with them since the beginning — Paul Guzzle (bass, backing vocals), Joe Mennonna (keyboards, accordion), Tim Quick (lead guitar, mandolin and backing vocals) and Frank Vilardi (drums) — eschew any hint of glitz and glamour in favor of an ethic gleaned from the hard lessons come as a result of determination and drive.

The gala’s co-chairs are Icy Frantz and Pamela Pagnani. Icy Frantz is a longtime Greenwich resident and local philanthropist. She taught a substance abuse prevention program at Greenwich Academy, was a member of the Board at Greenwich Country Day School and ran the Parents’ Association there. Icy currently sits on the Board for the Greenwich Teen Center and writes for the Greenwich Sentinel. Pam Pagnani  is a member of the Board of The Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education, where she chairs the Education Committee. Pam is vice president and brokerage manager of Sotheby’s International Realty in Greenwich. An attorney with more than 25 years of experience in real estate law, prior to joining Sotheby’s, Pam was a partner and attorney with Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan LLP, a Greenwich law firm. Devoted to community service, Pam also serves on the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce board, is secretary of Connecticut Public Broadcasting Inc.’s board of trustees, and a director of the Greenwich Riding Trails Association. Additionally, Pam is a member of the Greenwich Academy Alumnae Association and past trustee of Greenwich Academy.
