Darien Resident Elisabeth Lowe is Participating in Hamilton College Academic Program in France

Elisabeth Lowe of Darien is participating in the Hamilton in France program for the 2019-20 academic year.

Hamilton in France provides students with a solid academic experience based on the College's deep commitment to a liberal arts education and personal exploration.

Founded in 1957 as Hamilton College Junior Year in France, the program is directed by Professor of French Cheryl Morgan at Hamilton, and is open to qualified students at American colleges and universities. Each resident director brings extensive personal experience to directing study abroad programs and a deep knowledge of the educational system and of cultural and daily life in France.

The program's integrated academic, linguistic, and cultural components enable students to progress in their academic discipline, acquire excellent linguistic proficiency, gain confidence, and be more informed citizens of the world.

Lowe, a junior majoring in French and francophone studies and world politics, is a graduate of The Taft School.

Originally founded in 1793 as the Hamilton-Oneida Academy, Hamilton College offers an open curriculum that gives students the freedom to shape their own liberal arts education within a research- and writing-intensive framework. Hamilton enrolls 1,850 students from 49 states and 49 countries. Additional information about the college can be found at www.hamilton.edu.
