Darien Native to Lead Darien Arts Center Virtual Cooking Class

If you are looking to add a little more fun to your dinnertime routine, look no further. Because we can all use a little more fun in the kitchen, and because cooking really is creative, the Darien Arts Center is pleased to offer a free virtual community cooking class featuring Darien native and DHS alum, Phoebe Maglathlin on February 4 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sign up at darienarts.org for the grocery list, recipes and the Zoom link. The class is free but a minimum donation of $10 to the DAC is suggested.

In the interactive one-hour class, McGlaughlin, owner and head chef at Food by Phoebe will lead participants in whipping up a restaurant-worthy dinner and a delicious cocktail in the comfort of our own homes. On the menu: Blackened Fish Tacos with Quick Pickled Onions, Chipotle Lime Crema and Cilantro Rice, and a thirst-quenching Rosemary Grapefruit Margarita.

Maglathlin is a published recipe developer in Boston, Massachusetts and has always enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends. Some of her recent work can be found in the James Beard award-winning cookbook, ‘Tuesday Night Dinners’ as well as in the monthly ‘Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street Magazine’. Phoebe landed in Boston at America’s Test Kitchen after attending culinary school in New York and working at Bobby Flay’s Gato restaurant as well as in Martha Stewart’s Test Kitchen.

To find out more or to sign up for the class, visit darienarts.org or call (203) 655-8683. The Darien Arts Center is located at 2 Renshaw Road, behind the Darien Town Hall.
