The Community Fund of Darien Welcomes Jessica Anderson as Director of Advancement and Marketing

The Community Fund has hired Jessica Anderson as its new Director of Advancement and Marketing. For over seventy years, The Community Fund has invested in the most effective local non-profit organizations to support programs that strengthen youth, adults and families for lasting and positive impact in Darien, Norwalk and Stamford.

“TCF’s mission to provide our neighbors with basic human needs services, including mental health services for our youth, makes us integral to the success of this community,” said TCF Executive Director Janet King. “Jessica’s extensive marketing background and strategic capabilities, along with her clear passion for our mission, make her the perfect person to share our vision and to inspire the generosity of our incredible donors so we can continue to change lives.”

Ms. Anderson began her career as an advertising copywriter before becoming a writer and producer for several educational software companies. From there, she then became a market researcher at Hypothesis Group, conducting qualitative research and helping to shape advertising campaigns, marketing and brand strategy, and product development for a broad variety of companies including Disney, Fox, Quaker Oats, Mattel and Scholastic. Most recently, she founded and ran her own company, Jumbo Dog Artbooks. She holds a B.S. in Mass Communications from Boston University.

Volunteering has been important to Anderson for twenty years. She has been President of New Canaan Community Nursery School, PTO Co-Chair at Hindley School, a board member of New Canaan Nature Center, and a volunteer for New Canaan Red Cross, Garden Rescues Animal Shelter, Person to Person, and Food Rescue US.

“The opportunity to work for The Community Fund, an organization that has such an incredible impact on our community, is a dream come true,” says Anderson. “I have volunteered in many ways over the years, and I see this as a natural next step both personally and professionally. Helping my neighbors in need in this professional capacity will be rewarding on so many levels.”
