New Visual Arts Director Announced at Darien Arts Center

The Darien Arts Center has announced the addition of Lisa Rae Koorbusch as new Visual Arts Director. Lisa will develop and oversee all visual arts programming at the DAC, which includes classes and workshops for all ages that begin the week of September 19th and artistic opportunities to participate in special events and exhibitions.

As a resident of Darien for 21 years, Lisa has been very involved in the community as an avid volunteer, a mom of two girls and a freelance fine artist. She received her B.A. in Art and Art History from Skidmore College and then went on to study graphic design at Parson’s School of Design in New York, receiving an A.A.S. Degree in 1991. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and online. Lisa’s work took her to the art gallery arena in New York City for several years and then eventually to the Estee Lauder Companies, where she became Creative Projects Director in the creative department at the Clinique brand. She has returned to her first love, which has always been drawing and painting, and immersing herself in the world of fine art and art education.

“I hope to bring new ideas to the DAC curriculum and make the work of Darien artists more visible to the community,” commented Lisa. DAC Board president Carolyn Cavolo added, “We are so excited for Lisa to bring her experience, creativity and artistic talent to the DAC.”
