The Darien Arts Center has announced the addition of Rasheem Brown as new Martial Arts Instructor. Rasheem is currently teaching fall Martial Arts classes for all ages that run through January with ongoing registration available at darienarts.org.
Rasheem has over 10 years of martial arts experience working with students of all ages and ability
levels and is a Fourth Degree black belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate. As a sensei, Rasheem has an extensive background working at multiple dojos over the years, successfully guiding his students to their goals. His experience ranges from working at the STAR program to Horizons Martial Arts in Bridgeport and at Norwalk Community College where he has been head instructor over the summer. When he is not on the mats, you can find Rasheem as an acting teacher at The Neighborhood Studios of Fairfield County and The After School Lighthouse Program for The City of Bridgeport. Rasheem stated “I love that martial arts has a lot in common with dance and math, using many of their properties. In Martial arts there are a ton of different forms that we learn that look and feel like a choreographed dance and we incorporate math for angles and counting and so much more.”
