Three questions with Ernest Bothwell owner of Darien Asphalt Paving & Excavating Inc

When did you start your business?

Our company was started by Victor Bothwell in 1956 when he immigrated to the United States from Ireland. During the summer of 1958, he decided to return home to follow in his father's footsteps as a dairy farmer.  I'm his younger brother and took over the company and have guided it through decades of growth in lower Fairfield County. Darien Asphalt Paving & Excavating paves driveways, parking lots, and roads in New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk, Westport, Stamford, Greenwich, and Wilton. We offer all the masonry accents: Belgian Block Curbing and aprons.

Best selling product/service?

Our best selling product and service is our residential driveway paving and masonry.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We work with:

  • Devine Brothers
  • Ring’s End
  • O&G Construction Materials
