Fall theatre classes at the Darien Arts Center include Middle School Theatre Makers, a class for grades 6–8, where middle schoolers take the lead in an 11-week collaboration.
Young artists will collaborate to develop a script, design costumes and props, promote and perform their very own play. Students get a taste of what it is like to work together as a theatre company, assuming roles of director, designer, writer and actor. Classes take place on Thursdays from 5:30-7:00pm, Sept. 26 – Dec. 19.
A culminating event will be performed for family, friends and theatregoers on December 19. Fee for the class is $375. Lil’ Kids in the Cast, a class for grades K–2, takes place on Saturdays from 9:00-10:00am, Sept. 28 – Nov. 23. This fun and activity-filled class includes theatre games, improvisation, storytelling, songs and choreography. The final class will be a culminating event where students perform for friends and family. Fee for Lil’ Kids in the Cast is $225.
