Darien Library Changes Due to Rise in COVID Cases

Darien Library announces changes beginning Monday, November 23rd.

This decision was made out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our users and staff. Darien has reached Red Alert status for COVID-19 positivity rates, and hospitalizations and ICU headrooms across Fairfield County and the state are nearing critical levels.
  • Darien Library will be open to visitors for quick 30-minute browsing and computer access.
  • Computer sessions will also be limited to 30 minutes.
  • We are suspending notary appointments for the time being.
You may continue to pick up your holds from the Community Room when you receive the email saying they are ready.

The Library will reevaluate this decision every week as new data is made available. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and urge all of our community members to wear masks, practice social distancing, and limit indoor activities.
