You're IT Mirador!

Three questions with Joseph Larizza, founder of Mirador.

Why did you start your business?

In 2015, after 18 cumulative years at several of the most esteemed investment firms, Founder Joseph Larizza spotted an unmet need of U/HNW families, family offices, and wealth advisors in the U/HNW market: a simple and comprehensive report of their total wealth. While many advanced financial reporting tools exist, few family offices or investment firms have the resources or the dedicated staff necessary to operate them efficiently on behalf of their U/HNW clients.

Larizza founded Mirador in Darien, CT to do just that. Soon after, three additional “Founding Partners” joined the firm, all who reside in Darien; Jeremy Langlois, Heidi Davis, and Mike Pakula. In six short years, the growth has been tremendous, with the firm now boasting over 60 employees across the country.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Mirador is best known for its legacy service of operating third-party financial reporting software on behalf of wealth managers, family offices, and endowments and foundations. Regardless of asset class or location, Mirador can consolidate all the data to create financial pictures that leave nothing to the imagination.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Undoubtedly. Mirador began as an operator of financial reporting software and has grown into a full-fledged fintech company after recognizing the need for additional support services. Mirador supports wealth advisors through its Expert Services offering which helps clients choose and integrate unique technologies into their operations, with the ability to stay and act as CTO.

Mirador has also developed two unique technology offerings of its own; the Gateway; a robust advisor portal, and; a Technology Platform that delivers the best-in-class tools that advisors need to run an efficient operation. Finally, Mirador also offers Middle Office Services to assist wealth advisory firms with an account, transaction, and reporting activities. The extensive growth has allowed Mirador to become an anchor tenant in the new Corbin District, proudly cementing Darien as its home.

Joseph and Mirador's team would like to nominate a Connecticut-based family lifestyle photographer - Ellyett Photography to be featured next!
