For 3rd Consecutive Year, the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum to Win USA Today’s 10Best Holiday Historic Home Tours in the U.S.

USA Today has just announced that the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum has been voted by the public as one of the 10 best Holiday Historic Home Tours in the country. The list includes Graceland and the Stetson Mansion, among others.

LMMM Executive Director Susan Gilgore said, “The Board of Trustees, Volunteers, and Staff of the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum are thrilled to have received, for the third consecutive year, this coveted recognition, and truly grateful to the USA Today panelists and all our supporters from Connecticut and throughout the U.S. who have voted on our behalf to help us win.”

Hand-picked by 10Best Local Experts from around the country, the Museum qualified as 6th out of the eighteen museums and cultural institutions from all over the U.S. selected to compete for the title of 10Best. Ultimately, it was the public who decided which institution would be awarded this prestigious title by casting their votes daily for their favorite holiday historic house holiday tour.

There is still time to visit the Museum to see the new exhibition titled, A Holiday Wonderland at the Mansion, curated by Museum Consultant Stacey Danielson with the assistance of Trustees and Curatorial co-chairs Mimi Findlay and Paul Veeder and the LMMM Curatorial Committee, which is on view through Sun., Dec. 31, 2022. The Museum explores treasured Victorian holiday traditions and features beautiful 21st-century Christmas trees and seasonal displays by interior designers Victoria Vandamm of Vandamm Interiors and Marcia Taylor Reid of Taylor Reid Design LLC, as well asfloral designer Danna DiElsi of The Silk Touch.
