Darien Police Narcotics Bust at 11 Raymond St. in Darien

Over the past several weeks, the Darien Police Detective Division developed information that narcotics were being sold from a residence located at 11 Raymond St. in Darien. As part of this investigation, detectives conducted surveillance. During surveillance of the residence earlier today, officers observed activity which was consistent with a narcotics transaction being conducted. Follow up investigation led to a search of the Raymond Street address, and identified the resident as Nicholas J. Torcia, DOB 10-11-1991.

The search yielded a substantial amount of evidence that Torcia was distributing marijuana, THC oil cartridges, and vaporizer devices. During the search, specifically, 385 grams of Marijuana, 237 THC oil cartridges, and 12 vaporizers were located and seized. The estimated street value of the contraband recovered was over $16,000.00. $635.00 in cash was also seized.

Torcia was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was fully processed for the following charges:

• 21a-277(c) Operating a Drug Factory
• 21a-279(b) Possession of Marijuana Over 4 ounces (2 Counts)
• 21a-277(b) Possession of Marijuana With Intent To Sell

Torcia has been issued a $50,000.00 bond and remains in the custody of the Darien Police Department. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 12, 2018.
