On Tuesday, June 24th, the Town of Eastchester will hold a commemorative Town Board meeting to celebrate the signing of the Pell Deed on June 24, 1664. This event is one of many this year that marks the 350th anniversary of Eastchester with an array of special events and celebrations that is being organized by 350th Anniversary Celebration Inc.
The Pell Deed reflects Thomas Pell's sale of land to the original ten families who formed the new settlement soon to be known as East Chester. At this meeting, elected officials from the Town as well as its two Villages will reaffirm the Town's commitment to the ideals found in the original document.
The 350th Anniversary Celebration Inc is a not-for-profit organization was formed by the Steering Committee to organize the celebration for the town and will work until the end of 2014.
