Bronx River Parkway Closures Next Week

BRONX RIVER PARKWAY CLOSURES NEXT WEEK FROM YONKERS TO WHITE PLAINS

Work is part of the Crane Road Bridge Replacement Project

Motorists are advised that roadway closures related to ongoing bridge work will occur starting on Monday August 4 and continuing through Friday, August 8 on the Northbound Bronx River Parkway, the Northbound Entrance Ramp from Crane Road to the Bronx River Parkway and on East Parkway, an adjacent local street in Scarsdale. At the conclusion of this work, on Friday August 8, at 4:30 p.m., the Southbound Exit Ramp from the Bronx River Parkway to Crane Road will be reopened. This ramp has been closed since April 26, 2014. Please note that the hours for each closure are slightly different and the work is weather dependant.

Northbound parkway - closed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.:

· All northbound Bronx River Parkway traffic in Yonkers (six lane section of the parkway) will be detoured onto the Sprain Brook Parkway, then to Central Park Avenue (NY 100) to White Plains.

· Local traffic will have access to the northbound Bronx River Parkway at the following locations (between the Sprain Brook Parkway and Harney Road): Paxton Avenue, Elm Street, Scarsdale Road, Thompson Street and Leewood Drive.

· Local northbound parkway traffic will be detoured at Harney Road to Scarsdale Avenue and East Parkway and re-entering the northbound parkway at Crane Road.

· Northbound parkway will be open to traffic at Crane Road and all points north.

Entrance ramp from Crane Road to the NB Bronx River Parkway - closed from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

· Traffic will be diverted via local streets to the next northbound entrance, to the Bronx River Parkway, approximately 0.4 miles to the north.

East Parkway from Christie Place to Crane Road - closed from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

· Traffic in both directions will be detoured using Chase Road and Christie Place.

These closures are necessary to pave the travel lanes on the northbound Bronx River Parkway and the entrance and exit ramps to/from the Parkway as well as and adjust the grades on the adjacent local streets to tie into the ramps, all part of the Crane Road Bridge Replacement Project.

Electronic message signs will be used to alert motorists.
