Roadwork in South Windsor May Affect Holiday Traffic

The South Windsor Department of Public Works has contracted services for the re-paving the intersection of Graham Road and Nevers Road, tentatively scheduled for Nov. 25, weather permitting. The project is estimated to be a one-day project.

Milled transition areas at the beginning and end of the project will be done prior to the paving. "Bump Ahead" and "Caution" signs will be set up to warn drivers that pavement areas are under construction.

Minor traffic delays can be expected while the work is being done. One lane of the road will be open at all times.

There will also be a pavement restoration project on Cornerstone Drive due to sewer trench settlement in three small areas of the roads travel lane. The project is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 25 and 26, and the repair is estimated to be a two-day project.

The first phase of this project is to do some isolated lane pavement milling in specific areas where the settling has occurred. A machine will grind the pavement edges and create a consistent defined pavement edge.

"Bump Ahead" and "Caution" signs will be set up to warn drivers that pavement areas are under construction.

After the milling is complete, the areas will be leveled with pavement material and a final smooth course of pavement will be placed on the road. A very small section curbing will also be replaced. The repair will correct the road profile and improve the roads overall ride ability.

While this is taking place PLEASE do not park on the street. We thank you for your patience during this repair and apologize for any inconvenience. Minor traffic delays can be expected. One lane of the road will be open at all times.
