Book-A-Cook Hosting Holiday Meal for 50+ at Operation Hope, Wed. Nov. 13

Fairfield, Conn – Fairfield County-based Book-a-Cook personal chef service is taking over Operation Hope's soup kitchen, at 50 Nichols Street, on Wednesday, November 13th to serve a locally sourced holiday meal to 50+ people.

Book-a-Cook is providing everything including the services of one of the top chefs on its roster -- Tim Fornero, a 25-year-plus industry veteran who served in some of the nation's top kitchens, including Spago in Las Vegas and Felix in New York -- to create the meal.

Chef Tim created a thoughtful menu of fall produce, some of which was provided by Sport Hill Farm in Easton. The menu includes Citrus Brined Local Turkey with Chestnut Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Sport Hill Farm Broccoli with Garlic and EVOO, Homemade Corn Bread, and Apple Cobbler.

In addition to the food, Book-A-Cook business partners Ashley Hart and Amy Strife are decorating Operation Hope's dining room to make the evening feel like a true holiday celebration.

"We feel it is important to give back to the community and especially at this time of the year. The holidays can be difficult and the hope was to provide a delicious and nutritious meal for those who might not otherwise enjoy some of the holiday's delicacies," said Book-A-Cook Founder Hart.

Book-a-Cook is committed to supporting local chefs, farms and organizations. like Operation Hope. that help the less fortunate in the community.

OPERATION HOPE FOOD PANTRY NEEDS

Operation Hope's Pantry needs your support this Thanksgiving season. Its Wish List includes the following items: hearty Soups (all varieties), canned spaghetti, canned meats and stews, canned tuna, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter & jelly, Mac 'n Cheese, sugar/flour, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, salad dressings, pancake mix, syrup, instant hot cereals, cereals, toilet tissue, shampoo/conditioner, soap, toothpaste/toothbrushes, deodorant.

To help with Thanksgiving Day Baskets, the following items are welcomed: turkeys or gift card to purchase turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, green beans, corn, gravy, pie filling and pie mixes.
