
WESTON – "A Chris Coogan Christmas" takes place on Sunday, Dec 15, at the Cobbs Mill Inn, 12 Old Mill Road, at 7:00 p.m. Musician Chris Coogan (Weston), vocalist Michelle Grace (Greenwich) and the Chris Coogan Quintet will present new music and updated arrangements of holiday classics. The quintet is comprised of Coogan on piano and vocals, Jim Clark (Norwalk) on sax, Rex Denton (Madison) on trumpet, Jim Royle (Monroe) on drums and John Mobilio (Watertown) on bass. Coogan will perform original Christmas music, including a Gregorian chant and tunes from Vince Guarlaldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Coogan won the jazz portion of the John Lennon songwriting competition and has been described by the New York Times as a "masterful pianist." He is the director of the Good News Gospel Choir, performing at many area churches and festivals.
