Dr. Mona Garcia to Give King Edward VII Talk @ Fairfield Woods Library

This spring, Dr. Mona Garcia will again host her popular lecture series, Talking about History, at Fairfield Woods Branch Library. The subject, "Edward VII: The Man Who Waited to be King," will examine the life of this son and heir to Queen Victoria who waited fifty-nine years to inherit the throne. This four-part series will be held on Monday evenings beginning April 7 at 6:30 pm at Library's 1147 Fairfield Woods Road site. The first lecture, "Bertie Grows Up," will discuss Edward's early years. Registration is requested.

The additional talks in the series are "The Danish Rose" on April 21; "A Line of His Own" on May 5; and "Uncle of Europe" on May 19. Dr. Garcia injects wonderful humor and humanity into her history – join us for one or all of her lectures.

Dr. Garcia taught European history at the college level and is on staff as a reference librarian in the Fairfield Public Library system. She has presented conference papers in the United States and Great Britain, and has publications in her field of English history, one of which has been included in the Bibliography of British and Irish History.

All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free. To register, or for more information on this and other programs, visit: www.fairfieldpubliclibray.org or call 203-256-3160.
