A Look Back: Taco Loco Mexican Restaurant

Taco Loco Mexican Restaurant opened as a small taco shop in 1982 on Main Street in Bridgeport, CT.

Soon outgrowing the small storefront, Owners Miguel and Rose Tomasio moved the business to the Black Rock section of Bridgeport in 1989. They recognized the potential of the developing neighborhood and the business soon expanded from just tacos and nachos to a full-service restaurant with a complete menu and entrees like paella, steak chimichurri, carnitas and the Taco Loco Tacos that made the restaurant famous! Today, Taco Loco offers over 75 tequilas, a proprietary fresh lime sour mix and the very best margaritas. Customers consistently recognize the restaurant as the Best Mexican Restaurant AND Best Margarita in Fairfield County! Taco Loco is also known for outstanding service and the outdoor patio.

With regard to Taco Loco's mobile capabilities, its first food truck was on the road in 1988, making Taco Loco the first Mexican caterers in Connecticut! Recently, the truck was refitted with a new kitchen, branding and killer menu and is one of the leading vehicles in the very popular, trendy food truck category. Taco Loco has now added a second, brand-new truck, to be able to meet the demands of businesses and local residents who want to hire the vehicle to cater their private and corporate parties, from Stamford to Madison, CT, and even Westchester County. Visits included employee appreciation days for major local companies such as Schick and Bigelow Tea.

And when the Trucks aren't covering a private function, they can be found at fundraisers and festivals all around the state.
