New Concept in Preventative Care: Train Away Pain

For over 10 years, noted sports physician and strength and conditioning specialist Dr. E.J. Zebro has offered different approaches to help clients gain strength and improve performance.

Now, Dr. Zebro and his staff are introducing a new service at their downtown Westport location. An open house on Thursday, October 29 (5:30-7:30p.m., 180 Post Road East Suite 209) will introduce a brand new concept in Wellness: Train Away Pain’s small group classes.

Limited to eight people, and led by Dr. Zebro or Dr. Stephanie Warren, the classes will begin with a “movement and muscle imbalance assessment” of the group. That assessment will determine the focus for that class. One may focus more on core strength another on stability … all with the goal of addressing sources of pain.

The movement series will be uploaded after each class on Train Away Pain’s Facebook page so participants can gain access to the movements of the day.

“So many fitness classes these days are large, and many are unnecessarily intense,” Zebro notes. “Ours are based on principles of biomechanics. They’re close-knit, with a real connection between participants’ needs and the instruction given.”

Train Away Pain of Westport offers high quality preventative sports medicine techniques including chiropractic care, physical therapy and other tools for sports-specific injuries all intended to help facilitate  a pain-free life.

Train Away Pain’s staff has long taught healthy habits of movement.

From professional soccer players and golfers to Crossfit enthusiasts who long to reach new heights, Train Away Pain teaches people how to listen to their bodies to achieve optimal training success. A vast majority of the injuries Dr. Zebro treats are caused by repetitive movements, whether active (like running) or passive (like sitting at a computer) and can be greatly reduced with the right intervention. By teaching and reinforcing healthy habits of movement, Train Away Pain’s staff assists clients in preventing and resolving injuries related to repetitive movements.
