BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut - St. Vincent's Health Services honored Stratford physician and Trumbull resident Frank R. Scifo, M.D., FAAFP Sunday, November 30th by naming the new Community Education Room at the Stratford Health & Wellness Center after him. Family, friends, colleagues and former patients gathered for the dedication ceremony to mark the opening of this new venue within the state-of-the-art Health & Wellness Center.
"Frank Scifo is a man with a limitless capacity for caring and service to others," shared Stratford resident Dianne J. Auger, senior vice president and chief strategy officer, St. Vincent's Health Services, and president / CEO, St. Vincent's Medical Foundation. "What's so remarkable is that his commitment is not just to our community, but also to people in need across the globe. Whether he's driving medication across town during a snow storm to a stranded patient, doing mission work in Haiti, or helping to raise funds for SWIM Across the Sound, his passion for giving is truly limitless. We are truly blessed to have him as a beloved member of our St. Vincent's family."
Scifo was celebrated at a surprise dedication ceremony at the Stratford Health & Wellness Center, where St. Vincent's dedicated the "Frank R. Scifo, MD Community Education Room" in his honor. St. Vincent's will offer lectures and presentations in the Community
Education Center, which includes kitchen facilities for healthy nutrition and cooking demonstrations. Designedaround St. Vincent's promise to provide exceptional and compassionate care, the Stratford Health & Wellness Center centralizes urgent care, primary care, cardiac care and cardiac testing and wound care with community education programs.
"We asked Stratford residents what they wanted and needed most from their healthcare providers and we listened. We're bringing the best medicine closer to home by offering conveniently located educational programs that are designed to help people stay well," explained Auger.
The Health & Wellness Center is the second major expansion of St. Vincent's into Stratford, following the opening of the St. Vincent's Health Check Clinic at Oronoque, located inside the Oronoque Pharmacy earlier this year.
