Southport, CT – The gray shed to the left when you pull into Pequot Library’s parking lot is now open to receive donated books, CDs, DVDs, and record albums as the Library prepares for the Mid-Winter Book Sale, February 13 – 14, 2016.
Over the holidays, enlist your visiting friends and relatives to help clear out your attic, basement and garages of any reading and listening materials you no longer want. Kids home from college? Maybe it’s time to clear out their rooms of aging books. Ring in the New Year by clearing out the old!
Funds raised through Book Sales are used to buy new books for library circulation plus support Pequot Library's 750 annual cultural programs, art exhibitions, town-wide community events, music concerts, author talks, summer reading programs for children and book chats for adults, all serving over 100,000 participants a year. The annual Mid-Winter Book Sale is the little sister of the Library’s nationally known Summer Book Sale. The Mid-Winter Sale is smaller but more intimate with many treasures and bargains to be found. The Book Donation Shed is open 24/7 at Pequot Library.
