Backyard Birding at CT Audubon, March 12

Fairfield, CT - Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield, at 2325 Burr Street, will offer a Backyard Birding program on Saturday, March 12, from 10 to 11 a.m.  This is a Free event open to all ages.

Look! Up in that tree! It’s a … umm … bird. Wish you could identify that colorful feathered visitor to your backyard? Have you ever heard an unusual bird call and wondered what species was singing? Or seen a bird on the wing and tried to identify it by its flight pattern?

Join long-time birder and naturalist Richard Worth at the Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield on Saturday morning, March 12, and learn how to identify Connecticut’s birds by sight and sound.

Backyard birding begins at the feeder so you’ll learn who is visiting your feeder this time of year, their characteristics and their feeding habits. You’ll also receive tips on what kind of seed and feeders to use, and other ways of creating a bird-friendly sanctuary that will attract feathered visitors to your yard.

This free program, for all ages, is Saturday, March 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. Meet in the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Center at Fairfield Nature Store, 2325 Burr St. Register in advance by calling 203-259-6305, ext. 109.
