Fairfield, CT – The Greenfield Hill Congregational Church (GHCC) has announced that the 81st annual Dogwood Festival will take place on Friday, May 6th, 2016 to Sunday, May 8th.
A fun-filled event that is synonymous with the season of spring, the three-day festival will celebrate the white and pink blossoms that have become part of the fabric of the Town of Fairfield. The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Do Good at the Dogwood’ which represents the church’s commitment to the greater good and serving others as proceeds from the event are donated to scores of charities and organizations, both near and far.
“A time-honored tradition in Fairfield, the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church’s Dogwood Festival is an event grounded in community, celebration and fun, and an essential event to usher in the season of spring” said Pastor Alida Ward. “We’re very proud that the Dogwood Festival has grown into a major destination for thousands of patrons from around the region and we look forward to sharing the majesty of the Dogwood and our church with visitors.”
This year’s event will include an array of fun activities and destinations for people of all ages including the Friday Luncheon which will feature a performance by Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet Company; Kate’s Korner that has a variety of consignments – from housewares to clothing; the Garden Tent that will sell springtime plantings; the famed Grill Tent; the Dogwood Dash run and mini-Dash plus various musical performances and much more.
